Bernard Dugan or Doogin, Henry McWilliams or McQuillan and Thomas Fitzpatrick, labourers were accused of striking, knocking down, and kicking two weavers, a seaman and a woman near the Fair Muir Tollbar, to the effusion of their blood and serious injury of their persons.

They denied the charge but after proof had been led, the jury returned a verdict of guilty, and they were sentanced to nine months each in jail.
